India: numeri e mantraFrom 25 to 28 November 2003 the meeting India: numeri e mantra was organized in Udine by the Società Indologica «Luigi Pio Tessitori», with the patronage of the Regional Authority of Friuli Venezia Giulia, the support of the Provincial Authority of Udine and the Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Udine e Pordenone. On 25 November the official presentation was held in the Sala Antonini of the University of Udine. After addresses of welcome, the volume C'era una volta un numero was presented by Furio Honsell, Vice-Chancellor (University of Udine), George Gheverghese Joseph (University of Manchester) and Fausto Freschi (Società Indologica «Luigi Pio Tessitori»). On 26 November in the hall of the Department of Mathematics and Informatics of the University of Udine the seminar Development of infinite series in Indian mathematics: 1350-1550 was held with the following participants: Furio Honsell, Vice-Chancellor (University of Udine), Marisa Michelini (University of Udine), George Gheverghese Joseph (University of Manchester) and Maurizio Trombetta (Mathesis - Udine). On 27 November, in the Sala Florio of the University of Udine, the results of the editorial project Devī-Māhātmya. MS. 4510 of the «Vincenzo Joppi» Municipal Library in Udine were presented by Stefania Mason (University of Udine), Alessandro Passi (University of Bologna) and Romano Vecchiet (Biblioteca Civica «Vincenzo Joppi»). Finally, on 28 November again in the Sala Florio of the University of Udine, the volume L.P. Tessitori, Rāmacaritamānasa e Rāmāyaṇā was presented by Caterina Furlan (University of Udine), Gianfranco Fiaccadori (University of Milan) and Giorgio Milanetti (University «La Sapienza» in Rome).
