The Universe of Knowledge On 21 October 2022 the conference The Universe of Knowledge to honour the figure of the Indian mathematician and information scientist Shiyali Ramamrita Ranganathan (1892-1972) on the 50th anniversary of his death was held in Udine. Promoted by the Società Indologica «Luigi Pio Tessitori», with the patronage of the Autonomous Region of Friuli Venezia Giulia, the Municipality of Udine, the University of Udine and the Società Filologica Friulana «Graziadio Isaia Ascoli», the conference aimed to explore the cultural and philosophical roots of Ranganathan’s work in order to provide new insights into his epistemological vision. At the end of the conference, the Società Indologica organised in the Church of San Francesco in Cividale del Friuli the concert Mantra, music by Stefano Sciascia. |
